Questions

What are ways in which the diversity at the SON can be improved?
How can we as a SON foster a sense of a common group identity (not leaving any one out based on class, race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age, etc) that transcends bias and ultimately reduce prejudice.
As a male nurse (or African American nurse, or Asian nurse, or international nurse or ....), can you describe a situation in which you felt being male was an advantage and one in which it was clearly a disadvantage?
What experiences, if any, have you had related to assumptions or expectations by faculty and peers within the SON that you feel relate to your ethnicity?
For the males, do you feel that the SON effectively addresses and supports curriculum and teaching environments that are gender neutral especially is a profession that continues to be statistically female dominant?
How can the SON help to further foster diversity jointly with the rest of the University of Virginia community?

What are the some strengths of the SON that foster an environment of tolerance?

Do you feel that there is a difference between diversity awareness at the various levels of programs amongst faculty and students (BSN, MSN, PhD)?
